Other Tweaks

RICE contains various tweaks that are mentioned in passing or undocumented elsewhere; they are listed here for convenience. This is not an exhaustive list, and other mods may override these changes.

  • County of Siwa is changed to Butr culture and Coptic faith
  • Saka culture is present in parts of southern Tarim Basin in 1066 (no rulers, though)
  • Sogdian culture is present in a few counties in Central Asia in 1066 (no rulers, though)
  • South Arabian culture is present in Socotra and parts of the southern Arabian peninsula, with rulers changed accordingly
  • Dezawism (Kalash and Nuristani paganism) is present in parts of the Pamir region
  • Harranism is present in Harran
  • Guanche culture and religion is present on the Canary Islands, and rulers are changed accordingly
  • Several provinces in the Sahara are Amazigh and Illuic (Tuareg) pagan in 867, with Berber rulers who were Mandé pagan previously changed as appropriate as well
  • Most Tocharian counties are now Theravada
  • Mordvin has been split between Erzya and Moksha
  • Ukonusko faith has been split up
  • Muroma still appears in 1066
  • Khwarezmian exists in 1066
  • Khuzi is in Khuzestan in 867
  • Mandeaism is in Wasit and Tib in 867
  • Gayomarthianism is no longer prevalent in Khwarezm in 867


  • Zunism is present on the map in 867
  • Zunbils are independent and Zunist in 867
  • Counties of Aswan and Allaqi given to al-Umari in 867
  • Baronies of Aydhab, Badi, and Suakin start with a couple extra buildings
  • Claims to Kingdom and Duchy of Tuyuhun given to Murong Fu, last member of the Tuyuhun ruling dynasty, in 867
  • Bam and Jiruft are Azraqite in 867
  • Daman is Mazdayasna instead of Zurvanite in 867
  • Pithipatis own Gaya in 1066
  • Many new rulers in Dunhuang/Guiyi region in 867 to better reflect generals and officials in power


  • Saka ethos changed from Bellicose to Bureaucratic
  • Saka culture has Linguists tradition instead of Horse Lords
  • Tocharian culture has Music Theory tradition instead of Philosopher Culture
  • Sindhi culture has Practiced Pirates tradition
  • Iranian and Scythian languages renamed to Western Iranian and Eastern Iranian respectively
  • Volga Finnic cultures have had various changes to cultural traditions
  • Isolationist tradition removed from Khwarezmian


  • Sufri is now male-dominated instead of gender equal
  • Taoist faiths are now male-dominated instead of gender equal
  • Vajrayana is now male-dominated instead of gender equal
  • Khurzmata now has Ancestor Worship instead of Esotericism
  • Khurzmata now has unrestricted marriage doctrine


  • Added Land of Saint Nicholas modifier to County of Lykia, which very slightly increases development growth (Christmas easter egg)
  • Added several easter egg/vanity characters
