Frequently Asked Questions

RICE is technically compatible with many mods, since I do not edit vanilla code. However, some mods which are technically compatible may have soft compatibility issues or mild wonkiness and may require compatches. Please see the compatch page for more information.

While a new game is recommended, you can add RICE to any ongoing games; just be aware that some features will not be available without a new game. Regardless, remember to have a backup of your save file just in case.

RICE can be run safely in any language, just be aware if it's not translated, the mod uses the normal English text as a placeholder. Currently, there are partial Chinese, French, Korean, and Spanish translations available.

First, make sure you get a pop-up event at the start of the game, and/or if you see several new game rules related to RICE. If that does not work, it's possible the mod didn't install correctly. If you're on Steam, unsubscribe and resubscribe to the mod several times until it works; this is an extremely common issue with Steam Workshop. As a last resort, you can download the manual install version from GitHub.

Technically yes. However, I can't guarantee I ever will. My interests are fickle so it's really up to what I am currently interested in.

However, feel free to provide me with a detailed suggestion on my discord. The more notes I have, the likelier I might be interested in something. Generally, I try to have at least 2-3 unique features per flavor pack, including at least one decision or series of decisions.

In code for the music files, I've put in comments with links to my sources. If you don't know how to access that, you can also view it on the RICE GitHub. 

It's likely you and the other players do not have the exact same version. Steam workshop/Paradox launcher can be extremely difficult to get this working at times, and unfortunately the issue can affect many mods (not just this one) and other PI games too. I'd recommend unsubscribing and resubscribing until it works - If all else fails, download the manual installation on GitHub (the link to it is also at the top of the description on the Steam page).
